Focus Moves Into New Downtown Offices Following Years of Strong Growth

21 August 2017

(August 21, 2017) Chicago, IL – On the tenth of July, longtime Northfield local, Focus, moved its offices to 100 South Wacker Drive in the heart of the Loop in downtown Chicago.

Since it’s founding in 1993, Focus has run its corporate operations from Northfield, with its humble beginnings working within the Anderson family home, to its two locations on Waukegan Road. In 2012, as one of the first Chicagoland developers to climb out of the recession, Focus moved to its most recent location at 191 Waukegan Road. During this five year period the team grew from 12 employees to over 40 and Focus completed projects valued at over $440 million. In 2015, as the company continued to grow, the number of downtown projects increased, and due to a desire to attract and retain top talent, the company began plotting a move to the city.

To set the plan in motion, Focus selected a space on the topmost floor of the 100 South Wacker building. Bringing Partners by Design on board to design the space, Focus’s construction team, led by Senior Project Manager Mike de Lannoy and Superintendent Rich Czarnik began work on the buildout in April of 2017. The 9,000 SF of space on the 21st floor overlooks West Monroe from Wacker to the Chicago River, offering corner to corner views. Floor to ceiling windows, glass offices and an open floor plan create a spacious and light environment. Four new conference rooms vary in size and function and offer new opportunities for collaboration.

The team at Focus is thrilled to be located in Chicago and looks forward to the opportunities the new office present.
