VERNON HILLS, IL – Area shoppers will soon have more retail options as a new upscale mall recently broke ground in Vernon Hills. Located on nearly 33 acres at the northeast corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Townline Road, Mellody Farm has already signed on some major tenants, including Whole Foods, outdoor retailer REI, Home Goods and Nordstrom Rack with plans to announce more stores and restaurants in the coming months.The $200 million project will also include a residential component with 260 apartments on site, according to the Vernon Hills Review.
The Parker at Fulton Market has been selected as a finalist for ULI’s 2017 Vision Award. Projects selected for this award are examples of excellence across “the full development process – construction, economic viability, marketing, and management—as well as design – and promote best practices in development”. Winners in this category utilize creativity across process, partnerships, problem-solving and design.
On April 21, 2017, the Focus team will join Regency Centers, Atlantic Realty Partners, and members of the Vernon Hills community to celebrate the ground breaking of Mellody Farm, a mixed use development community is a project consisting of 274,000 SF of retail space and 260 luxury rental apartments at the historic Hawthorn Mellody Farm Dairy site.

The developers of a 29-story apartment tower in the Fulton Market neighborhood have put the “For Sale” sign up, even before taking the “For Rent” sign down.
A group led by Chicago-based Shapack Partners has hired CBRE to sell the Parker Fulton Market, a 227-unit tower at the southwest corner of Lake and Halsted streets that opened last summer.
Coming off a successful 2016, Focus has spent time reflecting on the strengths and accomplishments of its team members. As a result there are several substantial and well-deserved promotions to announce:
Joe Vartanian, promoted to SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Joe joined the company in April of 2015 and held positions as a Project Manager I and Project Manager II, during which he made substantial contributions to our Development business practices and was integral in the initial work on the 831 Emerson project. Joe has been a great asset since day one and is currently working on two projects in Downtown Chicago; Medical District Apartments and Soul City Church. He brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to all of the projects he has worked on.
Northfield, IL – Spring has sprung and Focus is eager to announce 5 unique additions to our corporate family. Eric Johnson (Project Manager II), David Beane (Senior Superintendent), Corey Miskell (Project Accountant), Gosia Bajor (Accounts Payable Specialist) and Margaret Hasemann (Marketing Coordinator) have made the beginning of 2017 a very exciting time at Focus. Hired to support the increasingly varied needs of a growing company, the new additions will help to scale the company’s capacity to whole new levels. “We are thrilled to be able to bring onboard such a qualified group of individuals.
