Orren Pickell (Orren Pickell Building Group), Tim Anderson (Focus), Mayor Don Schoenheider (Lake Forest), Jack Reisenberg (Lake Forest 3rd ward Alderman) and Christine Kolb (Focus) scoop a ceremonial first dig at the Kelmscott Park residential property site November 3 morning in Lake Forest.
LAKE FOREST — Lake Forest officials and representatives of the real estate and development communities broke ground November 3 on Kelmscott Park, which will add a mix of 165 new housing opportunities at the northwest corner of Laurel and Western Avenues.
Northfield-based Focus Development and its exclusive sales and marketing representative, @properties, announced the start of sales for Kelmscott Park, a new maintenance-free community of condominiums and luxury single-family homes in east Lake Forest. An on-site sales center featuring kitchen and bath vignettes, a scale model and renderings of the homes is now open.
Located at Laurel and Western avenues at the north end of downtown Lake Forest, Kelmscott Park’s for-sale offerings include 12 single-family homes and 42 condominiums.
The woman is 86 years old. She has called her North Shore house “home” for 53 years. Realities settled in recently, forcing her to consider downsizing.
The house was put on the market. It was sold.
“She needs to be out of the house by mid-August,” says the woman’s broker, Patti Skirving of Coldwell Banker-Winnetka. “It was overwhelming. It was difficult for her, stressful. There’s a lot of emotion involved, for many, when they downsize.”
