The January sale of Courthouse Square in Wheaton, IL set the record for highest per unit sale price in DuPage county. For nearly a century, the neighborhood surrounding Wheaton’s downtown red-brick courthouse and its signature clock tower served the legal and civic needs of DuPage County.
First residents started moving into complex in May
Community and business leaders are welcoming the opening of the 149-unit Courthouse Square Apartments complex in downtown Wheaton.
“It’s a terrific project, and I’m looking forward to having a lot of new neighbors in downtown Wheaton,” Wheaton City Councilman John Rutledge said during a grand opening celebration Sept. 7 hosted by the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce.

After many years of planning and dispute, Wheaton’s Courthouse Square development is back on track to be fully built in the near future.
The Wheaton City Council approved two ordinances Monday, both with a 6-1 vote, that amended the original Courthouse Square development agreement for a fifth time and granted the developer a special-use permit to construct two luxury apartment buildings near Willow Avenue and Naperville Road.
