Huge improvements for units at the Medical District Apartments, Now SCIO

20 February 2018

The value add apartment renovation continues as the SCIO team at the Medical District Apartments begins to close in on completion.

60% of the 410 units that make up the two-building project are now renovated providing the first look at the before and after progress.

Originally built in 1972, the apartments at the Medical District were in desperate need of an update. Focus with partners, Guggenheim and Atlantic Realty Partners, began renovations in summer of 2016 with plans to add an entirely new amenity space connecting the two buildings in what used to be an exterior courtyard. New amenities include a fitness center with cycling and yoga studios, private entertaining space, community work spaces, conference rooms, lounge with fireplace and free WIFI, resort style pool and deck with grills. Unit revitalization required a full unit turnover, including complete renovation of the kitchen and bathrooms as well as the removal of the adjoining walls between the kitchens and living areas. Pre-existing convertible units also included sliding partitions between living and den spaces which have been removed.

The added amenity space is expected to be complete at the end of February and the unit renovations will soon follow with completion expected in late summer, 2018.
