Justin Pelej is Vice President of development at Focus. He joined our team in 2005 to manage the leasing and construction of Sherman Plaza’s retail component in Evanston, Illinois. Since the completion of Sherman Plaza, Justin has been responsible for the acquisition, entitlement, leasing and design of all projects at Focus. These projects range from high-rise residential projects to complex, mixed-use, infill developments.
Before joining Focus, Justin worked for six years as a commercial architect in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As an architect, he specialized in financial institutions and retail centers, with a niche for urban infill site planning.
Justin received a bachelor of science in architecture from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and a master’s degree in project management from the DeVry University Keller Graduate School of Management. In addition, he is a member of the Ely Chapter of Lambda Alpha International: The Honorary Society for the Advancement of Land Economics.
As indicated by his experience and education, Justin prides himself in his ability to appreciate quality design, while still understanding the programmatic and financial realities of the real estate industry.
