Construction progresses at the Link Evanston.
The Focus construction team continues to make progress as construction continues at the Link Evanston. Teams have secured the structure of floors 1 -3 and finished erecting the steel columns and beams, including all for the detail work required for the steel on level 4. In addition, teams began pouring the topping slab for the future amenity deck.
In the coming weeks, teams will begin erecting precast plank for Level 4 and will install grout, rebar ad conduit lines starting on the East side, moving through to the West side of the building. Once the 4th floor in complete, teams will continue in the same fashion upwards through the additional floors.

Construction is getting underway for a nine-story building at 811 Emerson St. in Evanston, with the developers anticipating occupancy of the 241 units will begin in summer 2019 with pre-leasing to start this fall.

The developers of a brand-new 175-unit apartment building in Evanston sold the project for a hefty gain even before leasing up the project, a sign of the strong investor demand for multifamily properties in the Chicago suburbs.
Atlanta-based pension fund adviser Invesco Ltd. paid about $70 million for the eight-story building at 1717 Ridge Ave., according to people familiar with the transaction. At $400,000 a unit, it is likely the highest per-unit price ever paid for a suburban Chicago apartment property. Continue reading
